NUSTAND was established for the sole purpose of ending genocide.
We will accomplish this by meeting the following goals:
1. Genocide education
2. Raising awareness of current issues
3. Raising funds for civilian protection and relief efforts
4. Participating in local, regional, and national events that fulfill the first three goals
NUSTAND is the Northeastern University Campus Chapter of the national organization,
STAND.
STAND is a student anti-genocide coalition set up and run completely by college and high school students across America. Its parent organization is the
Genocide Intervention Network (GI-Net).

Save Darfur CoalitionNUSTAND's motto, "If I had but one wish on which to STAND", is a direct quote from a song written by the politically charged Boston-based reggae rock band State Radio.
The song is called "Sudan" and is on their album "Year of the Crow." (2007)
The entire quote is:
"If I had but one wish on which to stand,
I'd see the weapons all leave this land.
And I'd see the gunners watch their empty hands
fall down to their sides.
If I had but one wish on which to stand,
I'd see the weapons all leave Sudan
And I'd see the gunners wash their empty hands
down by the riverside."
