For one day, fast from a luxury item, such as a Starbucks coffee, and donate the money you would have spent to STANDFast for the civilian protection program.
In Darfur:
-
$7 provides a donkey cart for collecting firewood to one Darfuri woman for a full week. This will help improve their safety by decreasing the risk of rape, which women are often subjected to when gathering firewood alone.
In eastern Burma:
-
$27 helps one household have access to the civilian radio network to help them receive warnings of imminent attack by the Burmese military. Without this network, the Burmese military can successfully carry out their goal of driving out the ethnic Karen minority by razing their villages and ravaging their farmland.
